Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using yttranscript.org (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Description of Service
The Service allows you to paste a public YouTube video URL and receive a text transcript of that video’s spoken content, along with tools to search, copy, and export the transcript. The Service is provided free of charge.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
- Attempt to abuse, overload, or disrupt the Service, including automated bulk scraping of the Service itself;
- Use the Service to infringe the intellectual property or other rights of any third party;
- Attempt to circumvent any rate limits, security measures, or access controls.
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for anyone who violates these Terms.
3. Third-Party Content and Copyright
Transcripts generated by the Service are derived from YouTube videos that are not owned or created by us. The original video, audio, and spoken content remain the property of their respective creators and copyright holders. We do not claim any ownership over transcript content.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of any transcript you generate — including copying, downloading, republishing, or otherwise distributing it — complies with applicable copyright law and the rights of the original content creator. The Service is intended to support personal note-taking, accessibility, research, and fair-use commentary; it is not a license to republish another creator’s work as your own.
4. Accuracy Disclaimer
Transcripts are generated using third-party services, which may include AI-based transcription. As a result:
- Transcripts may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies;
- AI-generated transcripts in particular may paraphrase or approximate spoken content rather than reproduce it word-for-word;
- We make no guarantee that any transcript is complete, accurate, or verbatim.
Do not rely on transcripts from this Service for legal, medical, financial, or other purposes where exact accuracy is critical without independently verifying against the original video.
5. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party providers (including YouTube, TranscriptAPI.com, and Google Gemini) to function. We do not control these providers, and the Service’s availability, speed, and results depend on them. Your use of the Service is also subject to YouTube’s own Terms of Service.
6. No Warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
8. Changes to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, or any part of it, at any time without prior notice.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
